Apparently it's cheerleading weekend for me! I mean seriously you just have to love slashers where the actresses playing high school girls look like they're 30 but here we are! Cheerleader Massacre is pretty much exactly what you would expect. A fun little low budget snowy slasher with some cheesy acting, rough editing, and great music! The acting in this is pretty terrible all around, but especially from the cops. Some of those scenes had me dyingggg. I also loved how there were full scenes from Slumber Party Massacre in this, and Brinke Stevens cameo was incredibly random but I'll take the connection I guess! I've already forgotten some of the kill scenes, so it's safe to say they… More boobs and blood in this spiritual sequel to Slumber Party Massacre. Brinke Stevens revives her role of Linda from that movie, for some reason. It's basically just a cameo and spoils her excellent "death" scene from Slumber Party Massacre. The cheerleaders are stranded at a mountain home while someone picks them off.

The film is very well shot, the cinematography is beautiful especially the establishing helicopter shots of the Amazon. As I said earlier, the film is very well written and I think that it is also very well-paced. While I was squirming in my seat and biting my nails, I was not thinking 'man, this movie is way too long" or "this is really boring". The film does a good job of establishing its characters and their goals and progressing the story in an interesting way. It never feels completely dull or bloated. As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, the gore effects are top-notch. I haven't seen any behind-the-scenes footage nor am I an expert but these effects seemed practical and they worked excellently and delivered the extreme gore expected and commonly associated with these sorts of films. Next, some things that were ok, inconsistent, or could use some work. For one, the acting is not great. Don't get me wrong, there are some great moments of acting and overall it isn't terrible, but it is very inconsistent.
